EBSB Fraud Abuse Hotline
The EBSB Fraud Abuse Hotline is available to all staff, vendors or
customers to use anonymously to report suspected wrongdoing, including
fraud, abuse and violation of any federal or state banking regulations.
Any person who has a reasonable basis for believing fraudulent acts
have occurred has a responsibility to report the suspected act immediately.
We encourage our vendors and customers to report suspected fraud involving
EBSB through this hotline. Concerns should be reported by calling:

All reports will be taken seriously and will be investigated by
the AVP Security Officer. The AVP Security Officer will protect the
reputations of all concerned by restricting access to all information
related to the allegations and investigation to those with a legitimate
need to know. Retaliation and retribution will not be tolerated against
any employee or officer who reports suspected fraudulent activities.
All communications through the Fraud Hotline will be kept confidential.
All calls guarantee anonymity. You are not required to identify
yourself.
All allegations are reported to the appropriate authorities.
Reportable Transactions
Fraud is defined as an intentional deception, misappropriation of resources or the manipulation of data to the advantage or disadvantage of a person or entity. Some examples of fraud include:
Falsification of expenses and invoices
Theft of cash or fixed assets
Alteration or falsification of bank records
Failure to account for monies collected
Knowingly providing false information on applications
Zero Tolerance
East Boston Savings Bank recognizes the importance of protecting the
Bank, its operations, its employees and its assets against fraud.
The Board of Directors wishes to make it clear that EBSB has zero
tolerance for the commission or concealment of fraudulent or illegal
acts. Allegations of such activity will be investigated and pursued
to their logical conclusion, including legal action, criminal prosecution,
and disciplinary action where warranted.
